Our take on the PawHut Outdoor Cat House 2-Story Weatherproof Feral Cat Shelter with Asphalt Roof

The PawHut Outdoor Cat House is a two-story wooden shelter for outdoor, feral or community cats, with an asphalt roof and a raised floor to keep the interior dry. It stands 33.5 inches high, so it fits a porch, deck or yard without dominating the space. At $75.99 at Target as of November 4, 2026, it is the only new price we track, so there is no recent range to compare it against.

Pros
  • Asphalt roof sheds rain and snow
  • Two levels give cats a place to retreat and climb
  • Raised floor keeps bedding off cold, wet ground
  • Wood construction is sturdier than most plastic shelters
  • Assembly is straightforward with basic tools
Cons
  • No insulation, so it needs added bedding or straw in hard freezes
  • Wood needs resealing or repainting over time
  • Small door and interior suit one cat per level
  • Only one new price tracked, so no price history to judge deals
  • Not chew-proof or predator-proof on its own

Questions and answers

Is this cat house warm enough for winter?
The wood and asphalt roof block wind and rain, but there is no insulation. Add straw or a heated pad rated for outdoor use in freezing weather.
How many cats fit inside?
Plan on one cat per level. The two stories give a single cat room to move, or two cats separate spaces.
Does it need assembly?
Yes. It ships flat and goes together with basic tools in about an hour. Sealing the roof seams and painting the wood extends its life.
Is $75.99 a good price?
It is the only new price we track as of November 4, 2026, so there is no recent range to compare. Check the price history before buying if you can wait.
Will it hold up outdoors?
The asphalt roof and raised floor handle rain and snow, but untreated wood weathers. Reseal or repaint it yearly to get several seasons of use.
Where is the PawHut Outdoor Cat House 2-Story Weatherproof Feral Cat Shelter with Asphalt Roof cheapest?
At Target, for $75.99, as of our latest check.
