Our take on the Pilot FriXion Ball Erasable Gel Ink Pens Fine Point Red, Pack of 12

The Pilot FriXion Ball is a retractable gel pen whose thermo-sensitive ink erases cleanly with the built-in rubber tip, so you can write and rewrite without correction fluid. The fine point lays down a crisp red line that suits marking, editing and color-coding. A 12-pack keeps a desk or classroom stocked; no current price was available for this listing, so compare pack prices across stores before buying.

Questions and answers

Is the FriXion ink really erasable?
Yes. The ink turns clear when rubbed with the pen's rubber tip, so it erases without residue. It is not permanent ink, so avoid it on documents that must last.
Can I use it on exams or legal forms?
Usually not. Many schools and government offices require permanent ink, and erased FriXion writing can reappear under heat. Keep it for notes, drafts and planning.
How does it compare with a pencil?
It writes like a smooth gel pen and erases like a pencil, but the line is darker and more consistent than graphite. The trade-off is heat sensitivity that pencils don't have.
What point size is this pen?
This is the fine point version, which gives a thin, precise line good for small handwriting and detailed notes.
Does the pack include refills?
No. The 12-pack contains 12 pens; refills for the FriXion Ball are sold separately if you want to reuse the barrels.
When is the best time to buy?
Back-to-school season and multi-pack promotions tend to bring the lowest per-pen prices. Compare the 12-pack price against smaller packs before buying.
