The Pimax 8KX is a PC-only VR headset built around a 200-degree field of view and dual 4K panels, aimed at sim racers and flight simmers who want a wide, high-detail image. It runs at 90Hz natively, with a 120Hz mode available at reduced resolution, and includes built-in audio, a microphone and IPD adjustment. Its best new price is $933.33 at Twitch as of November 8, 2026, with two stores listing it new. That is a steep outlay for a headset that needs a strong GPU and some setup patience.

Owners of the 8KX tend to be simmers who value the wide FOV and sharp panels, and many accept the trade-offs to get them. Common complaints center on weight, comfort and the tuning the headset demands.
