Is the Pimax Crystal Light worth $1,599?

For dedicated sim players who want a wide field of view and a sharp image, yes. Casual VR users will find cheaper headsets easier to live with. At $1,599 at Target as of November 8, 2026, it is at the top of its recent range.

Do I need a powerful PC for it?

Yes. It is a PC-only headset, and its high resolution and wide field of view need a strong GPU to run smoothly. A mid-range graphics card will struggle.

How does it compare with the original Crystal?

The Crystal Light is the lighter, lower-priced version of the Crystal line, keeping the wide field of view and sharp display while trimming extras. Check which accessories are included before buying.

Expect the headset, a cable and the basic setup items needed to connect it to a PC. Confirm the exact bundle with the store, since Pimax sells several configurations.

Pimax headsets tend to drop during major sales events and when a newer model launches. Track its price history here rather than buying at the current high point.
