Our take on the PowerBlock Pro 50 Adjustable Dumbbells

The PowerBlock Pro 50 is a pair of adjustable dumbbells that replace a rack of fixed weights, going from light loads up to 50 lbs per hand in 5 lb steps. They use urethane-coated steel plates, a magnetic selector pin and a contoured knurled TPR grip, and the pair ships with a Pro Rack Stand. The compact tapered shape keeps them short enough for pressing and curling without the bulk of a full set. At $466.65 at American Home Fitness Co as of November 3, 2026, this is the best new price among the four stores listing them.

Best forHome lifters who want one pair instead of a full dumbbell rackSmall spaces and garages where floor area is limitedIntermediate lifters working up to 50 lbs per handAnyone who wants fast weight changes between sets
Pros
  • Replaces roughly 20 fixed dumbbells with one pair
  • Fast changes with the magnetic selector pin
  • Urethane coating is quieter and kinder to floors than bare steel
  • Compact 13-inch length suits pressing and curling
  • Pro Rack Stand included
  • Commercial-grade build with little plastic
Cons
  • 50 lbs per hand caps out for stronger lifters
  • 5 lb jumps only; no 2.5 lb micro-loading per hand
  • 38 mm grip is thicker than many standard bars
  • Long-term durability of the selector mechanism is the usual wear point
  • Price is high next to used fixed dumbbells

Questions and answers

Is $466.65 a good price for the Pro 50 pair?
It is the lowest new price among the four stores listing the pair as of November 3, 2026. Adjustable pairs in this class usually run $400 to $600, so this sits in the normal range rather than a deep discount.
How do the Pro 50 compare with the Pro 32 or Pro 50 EXP?
The Pro 50 goes to 50 lbs per hand, while the Pro 32 stops at 32 lbs. If you already press more than 50 lbs per hand, look at PowerBlock's expansion-ready models instead.
What comes in the box?
You get the pair of dumbbells and the Pro Rack Stand. The stand holds them at a comfortable height for picking up and putting down.
How much space do they need?
Each dumbbell is 13 inches long, 7.25 inches high and 7 inches wide. The pair plus stand takes up far less room than a comparable rack of fixed dumbbells.
Can I add more weight later?
No. The Pro 50 is fixed at 50 lbs per hand, so there is no expansion kit. Buyers who expect to outgrow it should consider an expandable model.
When is the price lowest?
Adjustable dumbbells tend to dip during Black Friday and January sales. Check the price history before buying if you are not in a hurry.
Where is the PowerBlock Pro 50 Adjustable Dumbbells cheapest?
At American Home Fitness Co, for $466.65, 15% under what the other stores charge, as of our latest check.
