Our take on the PowerBlock Elite USA Adjustable Dumbbells (Pair)

The PowerBlock Elite USA is a pair of welded-steel adjustable dumbbells that expand from 5 to 50 lbs per hand, then to 70 and 90 lbs with add-on kits. The square plates and magnetic polypropylene pin let you change weight in seconds, and the straight padded handle keeps the feel close to a fixed dumbbell. At $869 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, this is the top of the line for the model, so it is the priciest version of a set that starts much lower.

Best forHome lifters who want one pair to cover 5 to 90 lbsSmall spaces where a full rack won't fitPeople who lift heavy and want fast weight changesBuyers who prefer steel over plastic adjustables
Pros
  • Welded steel build with black powder coat
  • Expands to 90 lbs per dumbbell with Stage 3 kit
  • Magnetic pin and auto-lock make changes quick
  • Square plates sit flat and resist rolling
  • Padded straight handle feels like a fixed dumbbell
Cons
  • 20 lb jumps between settings unless you add the 10 lb adder weights
  • Square shape can feel bulky on some lifts
  • Long at 70 inches per dumbbell, awkward for tight movements
  • 90 lb setup is expensive compared with a used rack

Questions and answers

How much weight does each dumbbell hold?
Each dumbbell goes from 5 to 50 lbs, then to 70 lbs with Stage 2 and 90 lbs with Stage 3. The listed set includes two 10 lb add-on weights per dumbbell.
What are the weight increments?
Settings move in 20 lb steps per dumbbell. The included 10 lb adder weights let you split those steps.
Is $869 a good price?
That is the best new price found at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, and only one store lists it new. It is the top-end configuration, so compare it with the lower-stage sets if you don't need 90 lbs.
How big is each dumbbell?
Each dumbbell is about 70 inches long, 6 inches high and 6 inches wide at full weight. That length matters for tight lifts like curls.
What's in the box?
You get the pair of dumbbells plus four 10 lb add-on weights, two per dumbbell. Stage 2 and Stage 3 kits are separate.
Who is it for?
Lifters who want one pair to cover light and heavy work in a small space. If you need fine steps under 20 lbs, a set with smaller increments suits better.
Where is the PowerBlock Elite USA Adjustable Dumbbells (Pair) cheapest?
At Amazon, for $869.00, as of our latest check.
