Questions and answers

Is the PowerSmart B8721S1 worth it at $379.99?
It is a reasonable buy if you need rear-wheel drive on a slope and want to spend less than a comparable Toro or Honda. At $379.99 it is at its recent high, so waiting for a drop makes sense if your lawn can wait.
How does it compare with a front-wheel-drive mower?
Rear-wheel drive pushes from behind the deck, which gives better grip climbing hills and pulling a full bag. Front-wheel-drive mowers are lighter and easier to maneuver around tight beds.
Does it mulch, bag and side discharge?
Yes. It is a 3-in-1 mower: you can mulch clippings, collect them in the rear bag or discharge out the side. You switch modes by changing the rear plug and side chute.
What engine and deck does it have?
It uses a 140cc gas engine on a 21-inch rotary deck. That size suits lawns up to about a quarter to half acre.
Does it have electric start?
No. It starts with a pull cord, so expect a firm pull, especially on a cold engine.
When is it cheapest?
Gas mowers usually drop in late summer and early fall as stores clear seasonal stock. Track the price history here and buy when it falls below the current $379.99.
Where is the PowerSmart b8721s1 21 in. 140cc 3-in-1 Rear Wheel Drive Gas Lawn Mower cheapest?
