Our take on the ProForm Carbon EL Elliptical

The ProForm Carbon EL is a front-drive elliptical with a 10-inch touchscreen, adjustable stride and power incline, sold at $799 at Ultimate Fitness Outlet as of November 8, 2026. It sits at the low end of the connected-elliptical market, where the touchscreen and incline usually cost more. It suits shoppers who want guided iFIT workouts and incline variety without paying $1,500 or more.

Best forHome users who want guided iFIT classes on a built-in screenBuyers who want incline and stride variety on a budgetWalkers and light-to-moderate exercisersHouseholds sharing one machine at different stride settings

Pros

10-inch touchscreen runs iFIT workouts with trainers adjusting resistance and incline
Power incline adds grade changes that most ellipticals at this price lack
Adjustable stride lets users shift between walking and longer stepping
Built-in heart rate monitoring and a compact front-drive frame
$799 is a low entry point for a connected elliptical with incline

Cons

Assembly is lengthy and easier with two people
iFIT membership is needed to get the most from the screen
Front-drive flywheel makes the motion feel different from rear-drive gym ellipticals
Stride length and resistance range are modest for tall or very strong users
Some owners report noise and wobble developing over time

Questions and answers

Is the ProForm Carbon EL worth $799?: At $799 at Ultimate Fitness Outlet as of November 8, 2026, it is one of the cheapest ellipticals with a touchscreen and power incline. It is worth it if you will use iFIT and incline workouts; otherwise a simpler machine may last longer.
Do I need an iFIT membership?: No, but without one the touchscreen offers limited workouts and you control resistance and incline manually. The membership unlocks trainer-led classes that adjust the machine for you.
How hard is assembly?: Owners describe a multi-hour build with many steps and unclear instructions. Plan for two people and set aside an afternoon.
What is the stride length?: The stride is adjustable rather than fixed, letting you shorten or lengthen your step. It is not as long as commercial ellipticals, so very tall users may feel cramped.
Does it have a heart rate monitor?: Yes, it includes heart rate monitoring, typically through handle sensors. Readings are approximate and less accurate than a chest strap.
When is it cheapest?: Connected fitness machines usually drop around Black Friday and New Year sales. Check the price history before buying outside those windows.
Where is the ProForm Carbon EL Elliptical cheapest?: At Ultimate Fitness Outlet, for $799.00, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the ProForm Carbon EL Elliptical?: Rated 3.3 out of 5 from 124 ratings.
Where can I buy the ProForm Carbon EL Elliptical?: 6 stores we checked sell it, including Best Buy, Lowe's, Academy Sports, Dick's Sporting Goods, Abt Electronics.
