Our take on the Puleo International 4-ft. Pre-Lit White Artificial Alpine Pencil

The Puleo International 4-ft. Pre-Lit White Alpine Pencil is a slim artificial Christmas tree in white PVC with built-in multicolor lights. Its 16-inch width and pencil profile suit tight corners, entryways and small rooms where a full tree won't fit. At $52.99 at Michaels as of November 7, 2026, it sits at the low end of what pre-lit pencil trees this size cost.

Pros
  • Slim 16-inch footprint fits where full trees can't
  • Pre-lit, so no separate string lights to buy
  • White branches suit frosty, minimalist themes
  • 4 ft height works on tables or as a secondary tree
  • PVC construction keeps it light and easy to move
Cons
  • Pencil profile means less room for ornaments
  • White branches show gaps and dark cords more than green
  • Multicolor lights may not suit all-white decor schemes
  • Pre-lit wiring can fail and is hard to repair

Questions and answers

Is $52.99 a good price for this tree?
It is a low price for a pre-lit 4-ft pencil tree; comparable pre-lit pencil trees often run higher. Two stores list it new, so compare both before buying.
How wide is it really?
The listing gives 16 inches of width, so it needs about 1.5 feet of floor or table space. That is narrow enough for a hallway or beside a door.
Does it come with lights already on it?
Yes, it is pre-lit with multicolor lights. You do not need to add string lights, though you can add battery lights if you want a different look.
Can I use it outdoors?
It is built for indoor display. PVC branches and pre-lit wiring are not made to handle rain, snow or direct sun.
Is it full enough for ornaments?
It is a pencil tree, so branches are close to the trunk. Use small, light ornaments and skip large or heavy ones.
When is it cheapest?
Artificial trees usually drop after Christmas and in early November pre-season sales. Watch the price history for a dip below $52.99.
Where is the Puleo International 4-ft. Pre-Lit White Artificial Alpine Pencil cheapest?
At Michaels, for $52.99, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Puleo International 4-ft. Pre-Lit White Artificial Alpine Pencil?
2 stores we checked sell it, including Michaels, Lowe's.
