Is the DX-375 worth buying used?

Only at a low price and mainly for casual AM/FM and strong shortwave stations. A modern DSP portable like a Tecsun or Eton gives better tuning and reception for similar money.

Does it have a digital display or presets?

No. The DX-375 tunes with an analog dial and slide controls, so you read frequency off a printed scale and cannot store stations.

What power does it use?

It runs on standard batteries and can also work from an AC adapter. Check that a used unit includes the adapter, since it is often missing.

Can it receive shortwave with the built-in antenna?

Yes, the telescopic whip handles shortwave, but clipping on an external wire antenna noticeably improves weak-signal reception.

How does it compare with the RadioShack DX-390 or DX-398?

Those are digital, keypad-tuned sets with memories and better stability. The DX-375 is the simpler analog entry model, so it is cheaper but less capable.

What comes in the box?

A used DX-375 typically includes just the radio, and sometimes a carry case or AC adapter. Confirm the accessories with the seller before buying.

Our take on the RadioShack DX-375 Portable Shortwave Radio World Receiver AM/FM/LW/SW

The RadioShack DX-375 is a compact analog-tuned world receiver covering AM, FM, longwave and shortwave. It is a battery-powered portable aimed at casual shortwave listening and emergency backup rather than serious DX work. At about 1 lb it slips into a bag, and its analog dial and slide controls keep operation simple. It is a discontinued legacy model, so current prices depend on used and collector listings rather than a standard retail price.
