Questions and answers

Is the Recon 2649005HID worth it at $99.95?
At $99.95 at Recon Truck Accessories as of November 5, 2026, it is a low-cost way to get a complete 35W HID kit with ballasts. That price is at the low end of its recent range, so it is a reasonable buy if you need a single-beam off-road light.
Is this headlight street legal?
No. Recon lists it for off-road racing use only, and HID conversions in stock 9005 housings are not legal for road use in most US states. Use it on race trucks and trail rigs, not on public roads.
What is included in the box?
The kit includes the 9005 HID bulbs and the ballasts, per the listing. You supply the housing and wiring for your truck.
How does it compare with an LED 9005 swap?
HID gives a bright 6,000K beam, but it needs a warm-up period and adds ballast wiring. LED plug-ins are instant-on and simpler to install, though output and beam pattern vary by housing.
When is the price lowest?
The current $99.95 at Recon Truck Accessories as of November 5, 2026 is already near the low end of its recent range. Watch for holiday sales, when off-road lighting kits often drop further.
