Is this kit worth it over a halogen bulb swap?

If you want a large brightness gain and your vehicle accepts 9005 bulbs, the $34.00 eBay price is cheap for bulbs plus ballasts. Factor in a relay harness if your car flickers.

The bulbs and ballasts are rated 35W, despite the 55W in the bundle name. Expect 35W-class output and current draw of about 8.2A max.

Will it work in my car without extra parts?

It fits 9005 sockets on 12V cars and trucks, but some vehicles need an optional relay or anti-flicker harness to stop flicker and bulb-out warnings.

Is this legal for street driving?

HID retrofits into halogen housings are restricted or illegal in many states and are sold for off-road and show use. Check your local rules before using them on public roads.

The best new price was $34.00 at eBay as of November 5, 2026. HID kits often dip during holiday sales, so compare across the four stores before buying.
