Our take on the Reloop Beatmix 2 MK2 DJ Controller

The Reloop Beatmix 2 MK2 is a two-channel DJ controller built for Serato DJ Lite, with an upgrade path to Serato DJ Pro. It has two jog wheels, 16 performance pads, a crossfader, EQ per channel and a dedicated mic input, so it covers basic mixing and pad-driven routines without a mixer. It is a budget-to-mid controller aimed at beginners and home DJs rather than club installs.

Questions and answers

Is the Beatmix 2 MK2 worth it for a beginner?
Yes, if you want a low-cost Serato controller with real pads and a crossfader. It covers the basics of beatmatching, cueing and effects without a steep learning curve.
Does it work with Serato DJ Pro?
Yes. It runs Serato DJ Lite out of the box and is supported by the paid Serato DJ Pro upgrade, which unlocks more effects and features.
Can I connect turntables or CDJs to it?
No. The Beatmix 2 MK2 has no line or phono inputs for external decks, so it works as a standalone controller only.
What connections does it have?
It has RCA master output, two headphone outputs, a 6.3 mm mic input and 3.5 mm and 6.3 mm jacks. There is no XLR or balanced output.
What is in the box?
You get the controller, a USB cable and a Serato DJ Lite license. A power supply is not needed because it is USB bus-powered.
When is it cheapest?
Prices on two-channel Serato controllers tend to dip around Black Friday and end-of-year sales. Check the price history before buying.
