Our take on the Rokinon 21mm f/1.4 Wide Angle Lens RK21M-FX

The Rokinon 21mm f/1.4 is a manual-focus wide-angle prime for mirrorless cameras, sold in Fujifilm X, Canon M, Sony E and Micro Four Thirds mounts. Its f/1.4 aperture is unusually fast for a 21mm lens, which makes it useful indoors and at night, and it focuses down to 12 inches. It is fully manual, with no autofocus, stabilization or electronic contacts, so exposure and focus are set by hand. The best new price is $239.19 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, with 5 stores listing it new.

Questions and answers

Is the Rokinon 21mm f/1.4 worth it?
Yes if you want a fast wide prime on a budget and are comfortable focusing by hand. If you need autofocus or camera-controlled aperture, spend more on a native lens.

What filter size does it take?
58mm. Polarizing and graduated ND filters both fit, and 58mm filters are widely available and inexpensive.

12 inches (0.3m) from the sensor plane. That is close enough for tabletop and detail shots at 21mm.
