Is the Roland RP107 good for beginners?

Yes. The weighted, touch-sensitive keys build proper finger strength, and the simple controls keep students focused on playing. It is a common first piano for lessons.

Does the RP107 have weighted keys?

Yes. All 88 keys are weighted and touch-sensitive, so dynamics respond to how hard you play. That makes it closer to an acoustic piano than a springy keyboard.

Can I layer two sounds on the RP107?

Yes. Dual Layer lets you play two sounds at once, such as piano and strings. That is useful for richer arrangements and practice.

Is $1,319.99 a good price for the RP107?

It is the best new price found as of November 7, 2026, but it sits at the top of the recent range. If you are not in a hurry, watch for a sale before buying.

Can the RP107 be used for live gigs?

It can, but it is built for home use. There is no modulation wheel or pitch bend, and connections are limited compared with stage pianos.

What is in the box with the RP107?

You get the piano in its black cabinet, a music rest and a power adapter. A bench and headphones are usually sold separately.
