Our take on the Rosdorf Park Upper Shockerwick Twin Solid Wood Upholstered Daybed with Trundle

The Rosdorf Park Upper Shockerwick is a twin solid acacia wood daybed with an upholstered headboard and a pull-out trundle, so it seats by day and sleeps two by night. It measures 93" long, 43" wide and 41" high, with 12" of clearance under the frame and a 400 lb capacity on the main bed. Slats are included and no box spring is needed, but assembly is required. It suits small rooms and guest spaces where one footprint has to do two jobs.

Questions and answers

Is the Rosdorf Park Upper Shockerwick daybed worth it?
If you need two sleeping spots in one footprint and like the upholstered look, it is a reasonable pick at 4.6 out of 5 from 93 ratings. If you rarely host overnight guests, a plain twin bed costs less and is simpler to assemble.
What size mattress does the trundle take?
The trundle takes a twin mattress, sold separately. Keep it around 6 to 8 inches thick so it clears the frame when rolled out.
Does it need a box spring?
No. Slats are included and the bed is designed for a mattress directly on the slats.
How hard is assembly?
Plan on a couple of hours and two people. The frame is solid acacia, so the pieces are heavy, and the trundle mechanism needs to be lined up carefully.
Will it fit a small guest room?
It is 93 inches long and 43 inches wide, so it needs a wall of roughly 8 feet. The payoff is that it seats during the day and sleeps two at night.
When is the best time to buy?
Furniture discounts cluster around holiday sales and end-of-season clearances. Check the price history on this page and buy when the current price sits near the low end of its recent range.
