Our take on the Safavieh Soho Rug

The Safavieh Soho is a hand-tufted area rug in a wool, viscose and cotton blend, 0.5 inches thick, in ivory. The viscose gives it a soft sheen that reads more upscale than a plain wool rug. The 12-foot runner is the size most often discounted; the best new price is $154.99 at Kohl's as of November 5, 2026, with three stores listing it new.

Questions and answers

Is the Safavieh Soho rug worth it?
For a low-traffic room, yes. It is a hand-tufted wool-viscose rug at a price well below most handmade rugs. Skip it for busy hallways where shedding and matting will show.
How does it hold up in high-traffic areas?
Only moderately. The viscose blend can crush and mat under constant foot traffic, and ivory shows dirt fast. It suits bedrooms, dining rooms and lighter-use hallways better than entryways.
Does the rug shed?
Yes, hand-tufted wool and viscose rugs typically shed loose fibers for the first few weeks. Vacuum gently without a beater bar and shedding should settle down.
What sizes does the Soho come in?
The Soho line comes in several sizes, including runners, rectangles and rounds. The 12-foot runner is the size priced at $154.99 at Kohl's as of November 5, 2026.
How do I clean a wool and viscose rug?
Spot-clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent, and blot rather than rub. Viscose can water-stain, so avoid soaking it and have it professionally cleaned for deep stains.
When is the Soho rug cheapest?
Kohl's lists the 12-foot runner at $154.99 as of November 5, 2026, the best new price among three stores. Rug prices drop around major holiday sales, so compare then.
Where is the Safavieh Soho Rug cheapest?
