Is the Salewa Puez 2 Mid Powertex worth it?

For day hikes and light treks on rugged trails, yes. You get a waterproof boot with a protective rand and a grippy Pomoca sole at a mid-range price. It is less suited to heavy packs or winter alpine use.

How does it compare with the Salewa Mountain Trainer?

The Mountain Trainer is a stiffer, more technical boot built for via ferrata and rough rock. The Puez 2 Mid is lighter and more flexible, which suits general hiking and trekking better.

Does it keep feet dry?

Yes. The Powertex membrane is waterproof and breathable, so it handles rain, wet grass and shallow puddles. In deep water or prolonged soaking, water can still enter over the collar.

How does the sizing run?

Salewa boots generally fit true to size with a slightly narrower heel and roomier toe box. Try them with the socks you hike in, and size up half a size if you wear thick socks or have wide feet.
