Our take on the Samsonite Voltage DLX Hardside Spinner 3 Piece Set

The Samsonite Voltage DLX Hardside Spinner 3 Piece Set is a matching carry-on, medium and large trio in blue polypropylene with dual spinner wheels, a 1-inch expansion on each case, and a USB port in the carry-on's TSA lock panel (battery not included). The contoured hard shell is built to take baggage-handler abuse, and the interior pockets keep smaller items from shifting. The set's only recorded daily price is $391.49, so there is no lower recent price to compare against; that figure is the benchmark for now.

Questions and answers

Is the Samsonite Voltage DLX 3 piece set worth it?
At $391.49 for three hardside spinners, it works out to roughly $130 per case, which is reasonable for polypropylene Samsonite luggage. It makes the most sense if you need all three sizes; buying only a carry-on wastes the set value.
Does the carry-on fit major airline sizers?
The carry-on is built to standard domestic carry-on dimensions, but the 1-inch expansion can push it past some airline limits. Keep it unexpanded on carriers that measure bags at the gate.
How does the USB port work?
The port sits in the TSA lock panel and connects to a power bank you place inside the bag. No battery is included, so you need your own portable charger and cable.
What is in the box?
You get the carry-on, the medium checked bag and the large checked bag. Power banks, packing cubes and other accessories are not included.
How much does the set weigh?
Samsonite does not list a set weight here, but polypropylene shells are lighter than aluminum and heavier than softside nylon. Expect the large case to be the heaviest and check airline weight limits before packing it full.
When is the set cheapest?
The only recorded daily price is $391.49, so there is no cheaper period on record yet. Luggage typically discounts around Black Friday and pre-summer sales, so watch those windows.
