Our take on the Samsung U9000H 98" 4K HDR Smart LED TV

The Samsung U9000H is a 98-inch 4K LED TV built for rooms where size is the point. It has a flat panel, HDR support, Wi-Fi and Ethernet, Bluetooth, and works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. At $1,397.99 at Best Buy as of November 4, 2026, it is the lowest new price among the 7 stores that list it. That is a lot of screen for the money, but it is a big, heavy set at 114.2 lb, so plan the wall or stand before it arrives.

Pros
  • 98-inch 4K panel at a budget big-screen price
  • HDR support for better contrast and color
  • Works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa
  • Wide connections: 4K-capable HDMI, USB, Ethernet, optical audio, Bluetooth
  • Flat design suits wall mounting
Cons
  • LED edge/backlighting, not mini-LED or OLED, so black levels are limited
  • 114.2 lb set needs two people and a strong mount or stand
  • Upscaled cable and streaming content can look soft at this size
  • No mention of a high refresh rate, so fast gaming may blur

Questions and answers

Is the Samsung U9000H worth it?
If you want the biggest screen for under $1,500, yes. At $1,397.99 at Best Buy as of November 4, 2026, it undercuts most 98-inch rivals. If you care about deep blacks or gaming refresh rate, spend more on a mini-LED or OLED.
How does it compare with Samsung's Neo QLED models?
Neo QLED sets use mini-LED backlights with local dimming, so they show deeper blacks and less blooming. The U9000H is a standard LED set, so it trades that contrast for a much lower price at this size.
What is the refresh rate for gaming?
Samsung does not list a high refresh rate for this model, so expect 60Hz-class motion. Console gamers who want 120Hz should look at Samsung's QN90 or similar gaming TVs.
Does it support Alexa and Google Assistant?
Yes. The set lists Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa support, and it has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Ethernet for setup and streaming.
What comes in the box?
Expect the TV, a stand, a remote and a power cable. Check the listing for the exact remote and stand parts before buying, since bundles vary by store.
When is it cheapest?
Big-screen TVs usually drop around Black Friday and the Super Bowl. The current $1,397.99 at Best Buy as of November 4, 2026 is already the lowest of 7 stores, so compare before waiting.
Where is the Samsung U9000H 98" 4K HDR Smart LED TV cheapest?
