Is this plate big enough for a full dinner?

At 11 1/8 inches across it is larger than a standard 10-inch dinner plate, so it holds a full meal with room to spare. The wide rim takes up part of that width, so the flat center is closer to a typical plate.

Can these plates go in the microwave and dishwasher?

Yes. Sango lists the Roma stoneware as both dishwasher safe and microwave safe, so normal reheating and daily washing are fine.

How many plates come in the set?

The set includes four dinner plates. That covers a family of four or gives a couple a full set plus spares.

Will the sage color match the rest of the Roma line?

Sango makes Roma in several glazes, and the sage pieces are designed to coordinate with the rest of the line. Glaze lots can vary slightly, so pieces bought at different times may not be an exact match.

Is stoneware better than porcelain for everyday use?

Stoneware is denser and heavier, which makes it more resistant to chips and cracks in daily use. Porcelain is lighter and finer but more fragile, so stoneware is the safer pick for a busy kitchen.

When is the best time to buy this set?

Dinnerware sets tend to drop during home-goods sales and around registry and holiday events. Watch the price history for a dip below the recent range before buying.

Our take on the Sango Roma Sage Dinner Plate

The Sango Roma Sage dinner plate is an 11 1/8-inch glazed stoneware plate sold in a set of four. The wide rim and muted sage glaze give it a relaxed, Mediterranean look that suits everyday meals and casual entertaining. Stoneware construction makes it heavier and more chip-resistant than porcelain or bone china. It is dishwasher and microwave safe, so it works as a daily plate rather than a display piece.
