Best forIntermediate to pro players wanting a hybrid power-and-control paddleAttackers who play an elongated Invikta shapePlayers who like a foam core instead of a honeycomb coreCollectors who want the LABS case and certificate
Pros
  • PureFoam core resists deformation and keeps performance consistent over time
  • T700 raw carbon fiber face gives strong spin and a crisp feel
  • Invikta shape adds reach and leverage for drives and serves
  • Lead tape can be added to widen the sweet spot and steady the paddle
  • Ships with a collectors case and certificate of authenticity
  • Available in three core thicknesses to tune power versus control
Cons
  • Elongated 16.45-inch shape gives a smaller sweet spot than a wide-body paddle
  • 7.7 to 8.1 oz is heavy for players who prefer a light, fast paddle at the net
  • Limited LABS run means fewer stores stock it and sizes sell out
  • Foam-core paddles cost more than comparable honeycomb models
  • Collectors case and certificate add cost some players don't need

Questions and answers

Is the Selkirk LABS Project 008 worth $99.99?
At $99.99 at Royal Billiard & Recreation as of November 8, 2026, it is well below the usual price of a LABS limited-run paddle. You get a foam core, raw carbon face and a collectors case at that price.
What is the difference between the 10mm, 13mm and 16mm versions?
Thinner cores give more power and a firmer feel; thicker cores give more control and a softer feel. The 13mm listed here is the middle option, blending the two.
How does it compare to a honeycomb-core paddle?
The PureFoam core is denser and resists deformation better over time, with a more solid feel. Honeycomb cores are usually lighter and cheaper.
What comes in the box?
The paddle, a LABS red paddle collectors case and a certificate of authenticity. Lead tape is sold separately.
Who is the Invikta shape for?
It suits players who want extra reach and leverage on drives and serves. Players who want a bigger sweet spot usually prefer a wider shape.
When is it cheapest?
Limited LABS paddles rarely get deep discounts, so watch for closeout pricing as stock runs low. The current $99.99 at Royal Billiard & Recreation as of November 8, 2026 is the lowest new price across the two stores listing it.
Where is the Selkirk LABS Project 008 Pickleball Paddle with Special Cover cheapest?
At Royal Billiard & Recreation, for $99.99, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Selkirk LABS Project 008 Pickleball Paddle with Special Cover?
2 stores we checked sell it, including Royal Billiard & Recreation, eBay.
