Our take on the Selkirk LUXX Control Air Invikta Pickleball Paddle

The Selkirk LUXX Control Air Invikta is a control-first pickleball paddle built around a 19mm X7 Thikset honeycomb core and a Florek carbon fiber face. It uses an edgeless Aero-DuraEdge design, which Selkirk says improves aerodynamics and adds stability, and the Invikta shape gives it an elongated 15.85-inch profile with an enlarged sweet spot. Selkirk rates the face for 3x longer-lasting spin than raw carbon. At $168.95 at eBay as of November 8, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range, with 3 stores pricing it new.

Best forControl-minded intermediate and advanced playersTournament players who want spin that lastsPlayers moving up from a raw carbon paddleSingles or doubles players who like an elongated shape

  • Rated 5 out of 5 across 289 ratings

  • Premium price for a paddle without a cover included

Questions and answers

Is the Selkirk LUXX Control Air Invikta worth it?
For players who value control and lasting spin over raw power, yes. It is a premium paddle, but at $168.95 at eBay as of November 8, 2026 it is priced near the low end of its recent range.
How does it differ from the Selkirk LUXX Control Air Epic?
Same core and face; the Invikta is the elongated shape with more reach, while the Epic is shorter and wider for a bigger hitting area.
Is it good for beginners?
Selkirk lists it for beginners through pros, but the price and weight suit players who already have strokes. Newer players may prefer a lighter, cheaper paddle first.
How heavy is it?
It weighs 7.9 to 8.3 oz, on the heavier side for a control paddle. That adds stability but can slow hand speed at the net.
Does it come with a cover?
No cover is included; Selkirk sells paddle covers separately as an accessory.
When is it cheapest?
Prices move with store sales. The current $168.95 at eBay is already near the bottom of its recent range, so waiting rarely saves much.
