Questions and answers

Is the Simenmax 13 gallon motion sensor trash can worth it?

At $34.99 at Walmart as of November 6, 2026, it is a cheap way to get hands-free opening in a full-size kitchen can. Sensor cans at this price tend to have simpler lids and shorter battery life than premium models.

Does it need batteries or a power outlet?

It runs on batteries, so you can place it anywhere without a cord. Budget for fresh batteries, since the lid motor drains them with every open.

What size trash bags fit it?

It takes standard 13-gallon kitchen bags, the same size sold for most tall kitchen cans. A 13-gallon bag lines the rim without much slack.

Will the sensor open the lid when I walk past?

Motion sensors can trigger on movement near the can, not just a hand above it. Place it away from a busy walkway if the lid opens too often.

Is the white finish easy to keep clean?

The finish is listed as fingerprint resistant, which helps on a white surface. Stainless steel still shows smudges and splashes, so wipe it down regularly.
