How does the sensor lid work?

An infrared sensor detects motion near the can and opens the wing lid automatically, so you never touch the lid. It runs on batteries, so keep spares on hand.

What size trash bags fit a 16-gallon can?

Use 16-gallon or larger kitchen bags. Standard 13-gallon bags will stretch and may slip off the rim.

Will it fit under a kitchen counter or in a cabinet gap?

It is 14 inches wide, so check your gap before buying. Height with the lid open needs extra clearance above the can.

Is $109.99 a good price?

Lowe's lists it at $109.99 as of November 6, 2026, and it is the only new price listed. Without other stores to compare, judge it against similar 16-gallon sensor cans.

Does it need to be plugged in?

No, the sensor runs on batteries. That means no cord to route, but you will replace batteries over time.
