Is the PS5 Slim better than the original PS5?

It performs the same but is smaller, lighter and ships with a 1TB SSD instead of 825GB. Most buyers should take the Slim unless they find the original much cheaper.

About 850GB is usable, which holds roughly 15 to 20 large games. You can add an M.2 NVMe SSD for more space.

Does it play PS4 games and Blu-ray discs?

Yes. The disc drive plays PS4 discs, most PS4 library titles via backward compatibility, and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray movies.

Do I need a stand to place it vertically?

Yes, the vertical stand is sold separately in most regions. The console stands on its own horizontally.

The console, one DualSense controller, an HDMI cable, a power cord and the horizontal stand feet. No vertical stand or extra controller.
