Is the WH-1000XM5 worth it at $179.99?

At $179.99 at eBay as of November 6, 2026, it is a strong buy: that is well under its usual selling price and near the top of its class for noise cancellation. Check that the seller is authorized for warranty coverage.

How does it compare with the WH-1000XM4?

The XM5 adds two more microphones, a new driver, better call quality and multipoint, but it no longer folds. If you travel light and want a compact case, the XM4 is still worth a look.

How long does the battery last?

Sony rates it at up to 30 hours with noise cancellation on. A short charge gives several hours of playback, and the USB-C cable is included.

Can I connect it to a laptop and a phone at the same time?

Yes. Multipoint Bluetooth keeps two devices connected, so you can take a call on your phone while audio plays from a laptop.

What comes in the box?

The headphones, a collapsible carrying case, a 3.5mm audio cable, a USB-A to USB-C charging cable and a one-year limited warranty.

Does it work with a wired connection?

Yes. The included 3.5mm cable lets you listen wired, which also works when the battery is empty.
