Our take on the Soundcore 2 Portable Bluetooth Speaker

The Soundcore 2 is a small, rugged Bluetooth speaker with 12 W of output, a 5,200 mAh battery rated for 24 hours, and both Bluetooth and AUX inputs. It is built for casual listening on the go, with an IPX7 water-resistance rating and a bass port that gives it more low end than most speakers at this size. The best new price is $29.99 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, and the price has barely moved since October 31, when it hit $29.98. At under $30 it sits at the low end of its recent range, so there is little reason to wait for a drop.

Questions and answers

Is the Soundcore 2 worth it at $29.99?
Yes, if you want a cheap, water-resistant speaker with long battery life. At $29.99 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it is near its recent low of $29.98, so waiting is unlikely to save much.
How does it compare with the Soundcore 3?
The Soundcore 3 adds USB-C charging, app-based EQ and stereo pairing. The Soundcore 2 keeps the same rugged 24-hour formula for less money, so pick it if you don't need USB-C or app tuning.
Is it really waterproof?
It carries an IPX7 rating, meaning it can survive being submerged in about a meter of water for 30 minutes. It is fine for showers, poolsides and rain, but the port cover must be sealed.
How long does the battery last and how do you charge it?
The 5,200 mAh battery is rated for 24 hours of playback at moderate volume. It charges over micro-USB, not USB-C, so keep a micro-USB cable handy.
What's in the box?
The speaker, a micro-USB charging cable and a quick-start guide. No wall adapter and no AUX cable are included, so bring your own if you plan to use the wired input.
Can it connect to a phone and a laptop at once?
No. It pairs to one Bluetooth device at a time, though you can switch sources by plugging in an AUX cable.
Where is the Soundcore 2 Portable Bluetooth Speaker cheapest?
At Walmart, for $29.99, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Soundcore 2 Portable Bluetooth Speaker?
Rated 4.4 out of 5 from 116 ratings.
