Questions and answers

Is the Star 724TA worth it over a smaller griddle?
If you cook in volume, the 24 x 24 inch plate and 8.7 kW recovery speed cut ticket times. For low-volume use, a smaller or lower-wattage griddle costs far less and draws less power.
What power does it need?
It runs on 208-240V electric and draws 8.7 kW, so plan a dedicated circuit sized for that load. Confirm your panel capacity before ordering.
How does the polished steel plate compare to chrome?
Polished steel browns well and holds seasoning, but it needs seasoning and careful cleaning to avoid rust. Chrome plates clean easier but cost more and can scratch.
What is included with it?
The griddle ships with its 5-inch wraparound splash guard, 6-quart grease drawer and adjustable 4-inch legs. A stand and accessories are typically separate.
When is the best time to buy?
Commercial equipment pricing moves with dealer promotions and freight deals. As of November 4, 2026, the best new price is $5,757 at chefandbeyond, and only one store lists it new, so compare freight and lead time before ordering.
Where is the Star 724TA Ultra-Max 24 in. Electric Griddle cheapest?
