Questions and answers

Is the STRYI Profi set worth $399?

It is aimed at carvers who want hand-sharpened high-carbon blades that hold an edge. At $399 at eBay as of November 7, 2026, it costs several times a hobby set, so it only pays off with regular use.

What steel are the blades?

65G high-carbon steel hardened to 58–62 HRC. That hardness gives good edge retention but makes the blades brittle, so avoid prying or dropping them.

Do the knives come sharp?

Yes. STRYI says each blade is professionally hand-sharpened and razor ready, so you can carve straight from the box.

How do I care for the oak handles and carbon blades?

Wipe the blades dry after every session and oil them lightly to prevent rust. Re-oil the oak handles occasionally with linseed oil to keep the finish.

How many knives are in the set?

The listing describes an 8-piece set but the spec field says 3 pcs. Confirm the exact count with the seller before buying.

When is the price lowest?

Only two stores price it new, so discounts are rare. Watch the price history and buy when it dips below $399.
