Is the Suncast Sleigh Shovel worth it?

For smooth driveways and light to moderate snow, yes. It is cheap, light and lets you push snow without lifting. If you face deep drifts or rough ground, a metal scoop or snow blower suits you better.

How wide is the blade?

The blade is 27 inches wide and 12 inches tall, so each pass clears a wide path. That width also makes it awkward in tight spots between cars or along narrow walks.

Does it work on gravel?

No. Suncast rates it for smooth paved surfaces. The plastic blade and steel wear strip can catch on gravel and rough ground.

How long is it, and does the handle detach?

The overall length is 56 inches. The handle is detachable but the shaft does not fold, so plan on hanging it or storing it full length.

Push shovels usually drop in price before and during winter storms. The current $40.99 at pennvalleytruevalue.com as of November 5, 2026 is already near the low end of its recent range.
