Is the Yooper Scooper worth $184.99?

If you clear a long driveway in heavy snow every winter, the rigid steel build can justify the price over a plastic scoop. For light snow or small walks, a cheaper shovel does the job.

How heavy is it to use?

It weighs about 18 lb. It is designed to be pushed along the ground, so the weight matters most when carrying it or lifting it over steps.

Does it fold for storage?

No. The scoop is a fixed steel frame about 60 inches long, so plan for wall or floor space in a garage or shed.

Will the steel edge damage my deck?

It can scratch wood decks and some pavers. On concrete and asphalt it is fine; on softer surfaces, keep the edge off the boards.

What size is the blade?

The scoop is the medium 22-inch size, about 20 inches wide at the blade, which is wide enough to move snow quickly without being unwieldy.

Snow scoops usually discount in late winter and early spring as stores clear stock. The current $184.99 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026 is near the top of its recent range.

Our take on the Yooper Scooper

The Yooper Scooper is a heavy-gauge alloy steel snow scoop with a 22-inch blade, built for pushing snow rather than lifting it. Its 8.17 kg (about 18 lb) steel body and contoured D-grip handle suit clearing driveways and long walks in deep, frequent snow. It does not fold, so storage takes real space. At $184.99 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent range, with only two stores listing it new.
