Do the SVS Ultra Bookshelf speakers need a subwoofer?

They reach about 45Hz, so they cover most music on their own. For deep bass in movies or large rooms, add a subwoofer.

What amplifier power do they need?

SVS recommends 20 to 150 watts. At 8 ohms and 87 dB, most receivers and integrated amps can drive them.

Can I place them against a wall?

The port fires from the rear, so leave some space behind the cabinet. Close to a wall, bass can sound boomy.

What comes in the box?

A pair of speakers, detachable cloth grilles and elastomer bumper feet. Speaker wire and stands are not included.

How do I connect them?

Use the dual gold-plated 5-way binding posts with bare wire, spades or banana plugs. They are passive speakers and need an amplifier.
