Tatami mats are traditional Japanese flooring made from a dense rice straw core covered with woven soft rush straw. We offer our tatami mats in both Standard and Split models to best suit your needs. Standard models typically consist of one or two pieces, while Split models divide each standard panel in half, resulting in a two- or four-piece set. This split design makes the mats much easier to ship, store, and move, but once assembled, they maintain the exact same overall dimensions as the standard versions (please refer to the dimensions section for a detailed breakdown).
