Is the TCL 65S435 good for gaming?

Only casually. It has no VRR and no high frame rate mode, so fast games will show some blur and screen tearing. A console will run, but a set with VRR and 120Hz is better for serious play.

Does the TCL 65S435 have local dimming?

No. The backlight is edge-lit across the whole panel, so black levels are average and dark scenes can look gray. That is the main picture trade-off at this price.

Can I use AirPlay and Alexa with this TV?

Yes. It supports AirPlay for streaming from Apple devices and works with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit for voice control. There is no Bluetooth, so wireless headphones are not an option.

How many HDMI ports does it have?

Four HDMI inputs, plus one composite input, an optical S/PDIF output, USB 2.0 and an Ethernet port. That is enough for a console, a streaming stick and a soundbar without a switcher.

Can I wall-mount the TCL 65S435?

Yes. It is VESA mountable and weighs 37.9 lb without the legs, so a standard 65-inch wall bracket will hold it. Check your bracket's VESA pattern before buying.

Is $399.99 a good price for this TV?

It is a low price for a 65-inch 4K set, and only one store lists it new at $399.99 as of November 7, 2026. Entry-level 65-inch TVs from other brands often sell in the same range, so compare features like local dimming before deciding.

Our take on the TCL 65S435

The TCL 65S435 is a 65-inch 4K LED smart TV from TCL's entry-level S4 series. It covers the basics well: a 3840x2160 panel, four HDMI inputs, Wi-Fi, AirPlay, and built-in Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit support. It has no local dimming, no variable refresh rate, and no 120Hz panel, so it is a budget set rather than a gaming or home-theater upgrade. At $399.99 at Best Buy as of November 7, 2026, it sits at the low end of what a 65-inch 4K TV costs.
