Is the TCL 98 QM63K worth it?

For a 98-inch mini-LED TV at $2,198, yes, if you have the wall space and viewing distance. Competing 98-inch sets from premium brands cost considerably more.

How far should I sit from a 98-inch TV?

About 10 to 13 feet gives a comfortable cinematic view. Closer than that, lower-resolution content will show its flaws.

Does it need a special wall mount?

Yes. Use a mount rated for the TV's weight and anchored into studs. A standard small-TV bracket is not enough.

The TV, stand legs, remote and power cable. A wall mount and HDMI cables are sold separately.

When is the best time to buy it?

Large TVs usually drop around Black Friday and before the Super Bowl. The current $2,198 at Sam's Club as of November 7, 2026 is already low for the size.

Our take on the TCL 98 QM63K QD-Mini LED Smart TV

The TCL 98 QM63K is a 98-inch 4K QD-Mini LED smart TV from TCL's 2025 QM6K line, running Android TV with HDR support. Its size and mini-LED backlight make it a candidate for a large living room or media room where a projector would otherwise go. At $2,198 at Sam's Club as of November 7, 2026, it sits at the low end of what a 98-inch mini-LED set has cost recently, so this is a strong entry point for the size.
