Our take on the Theodore Alexander Spencer London Rococo Console Table, Black and White Marble and Wood, 74"

The Theodore Alexander Spencer London is a 74-inch Rococo-style console table in black and white marble with a carved wood base. At 39 inches tall and 320 pounds, it is a statement piece for a hallway, dining room or entry, not a light piece you move often. It is a high-end designer piece, so expect luxury-furniture pricing rather than mass-market pricing.

Questions and answers

Is the marble top real or faux?
It is described as black and white marble, so it is a natural stone top. Natural marble varies in veining, so no two tables look identical.
How many people does it take to move it?
Plan on at least two strong movers. At roughly 320 pounds, it is best delivered and placed by a professional crew.
Will it fit in a standard hallway?
It is 74 inches wide and 25 inches deep, so measure your wall and walkway first. Leave clearance for doors and traffic.
Does the marble need sealing?
Natural marble is porous and can stain from wine, oil or citrus. Seal it on delivery and reseal periodically, and wipe spills promptly.
What rooms does this console suit?
It works best in a formal entry, dining room or living room with traditional decor. The 39-inch height pairs well with tall lamps and artwork.
When is the best time to buy?
Luxury furniture like this rarely sees deep discounts. Watch for seasonal furniture sales and compare prices across stores before buying.
