Our take on the TORRAS MiniMag Power Bank Ultra-Slim 10,000mAh Magnetic Wireless Portable Charger

The TORRAS MiniMag is a 10,000mAh magnetic wireless power bank that snaps onto MagSafe-compatible iPhones and charges them without a cable. It is unusually thin for its capacity at 16.6mm and 199g, and it also has a 20W USB-C port for wired charging of phones, earbuds or the bank itself. Wireless output steps through 5W, 7.5W, 10W and 15W, so non-MagSafe Android phones charge slower than iPhones. No charging cable is in the box, so budget for a USB-C cable if you do not own one.

Best foriPhone owners who want cable-free top-ups in a pocket or bagTravelers who want one battery for wireless phone charging and wired accessories
Commuters and day-trippers rather than multi-day campers
Pros
  • Slim 16.6mm body for a 10,000mAh magnetic bank
  • Holds onto a MagSafe iPhone without a cable
  • 20W USB-C output for fast wired charging
  • Pass-through style use: charge the phone wirelessly while the bank is plugged in
  • Works as a wired bank for Android phones and earbuds too
Cons
  • No USB-C cable included
  • 199g is noticeable stuck to the back of a phone
  • Wireless charging is slower and less efficient than wired
  • Magnetic hold only works with MagSafe iPhones or a magnetic case
  • 10,000mAh gives roughly one and a half to two phone charges, not more

Questions and answers

Will it charge a non-MagSafe Android phone wirelessly?
Yes, but only at the lower 5W rate unless the phone supports the higher Qi profiles, and it will not stick magnetically. For Android phones the 20W USB-C port is the better option.
How many times can it charge an iPhone?
With 10,000mAh and wireless losses, expect roughly one and a half to two full charges of a standard iPhone. Wired charging gets closer to two.
Is a cable included?
No. The box has the power bank only, so you need your own USB-C cable to recharge it or to use wired output.
Can I charge the bank and my phone at the same time?
Yes. Plug the bank into a charger via USB-C and it will pass power through to a phone on the magnetic pad, though charging will be slower than charging each separately.
Is it allowed on a plane?
Yes. At 10,000mAh (about 37Wh) it is well under the 100Wh carry-on limit most airlines use, but it must go in carry-on baggage, not checked luggage.
