Is the S550e worth it over the S350e?

The S550e adds the auto open and close lid and ewater+, which the S350e lacks. If you want a hands-free lid and extra bowl cleaning, it is worth the step up; otherwise the S350e covers the core wash functions for less.

Does it fit my toilet?

It fits elongated bowls only, not round ones. Check that your bowl is elongated and that the seat's 20.94-inch depth and 15.06-inch width clear your tank and walls.

Do I need an electrician?

You need a GFCI outlet within reach of the cord, which many bathrooms lack. The plumbing hookup itself is simple and TOTO says a plumber can install it in under 30 minutes.

What is ewater+ and does it need chemicals?

ewater+ electrolyzes tap water into a cleaning mist for the wand and bowl. It uses no chemical additives, so there is nothing to refill.

The seat, mounting hardware, connection fittings and supply lines are included. You supply the outlet and, if needed, a longer hose.

The best new price seen is $1,473.10 at eBay as of November 5, 2026. Watch for holiday sales and open-box listings, which often undercut new stock.

Our take on the TOTO Washlet S550e Electronic Bidet Seat

The TOTO Washlet S550e is a high-end electronic bidet seat for elongated toilets, with an auto-opening and closing lid, a heated seat, a warm-air dryer and a self-cleaning wand. It adds TOTO's ewater+ electrolyzed-water mist, a premist of the bowl and a night light, and stores settings for two users. The best new price is $1,473.10 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, with three stores listing it new. That sits at the top of the Washlet line, well above the entry C100 and mid-range S350e.
