Our take on the Trex Enhance Basics 1-in x 6-in Composite Deck Board

The Trex Enhance Basics is a 1-in x 6-in composite deck board sold in 16 ft lengths, made from about 95% recycled material. It is a solid-color, splinter-free board that resists warping, rot and moisture, and installs with Trex hidden fasteners. The best new price is $38.88 at Premium Decking Supply as of November 5, 2026, with three stores carrying it new. That is a low entry point for a capped composite board, so check per-linear-foot cost against other stores before ordering.

Questions and answers

Is the Trex Enhance Basics worth it over wood?
It costs more upfront than pressure-treated wood but needs no staining or sealing, so upkeep is lower. For a long-term deck, the trade-off usually pays off.
How much does it cost per linear foot?
At $38.88 for a 16 ft board at Premium Decking Supply as of November 5, 2026, that is about $2.43 per linear foot. Compare with the other two stores before buying.
What fasteners do I need?
It uses Trex hidden fasteners and a clip system. The clips are not included with the board, so budget for them separately.
Does it work with Trex railing?
Yes. It is compatible with all Trex railing lines, and also suits deck stairs and porches.
Will the color fade?
Some fading is normal for composite over years of sun exposure. The solid Calm Water finish hides variation but shows scuffs more than variegated boards.
When is it cheapest?
Decking often drops in late fall and winter, outside the spring building season. Track the price history across the three stores to catch a dip.
