Is the Vicks Mini Filter Free humidifier worth it?

At $9.97 at eBay as of November 3, 2026, it is a low-risk buy for a bedroom or nursery. You skip filter costs, but you get a small tank and basic controls.

How often do I need to refill it?

The 0.5-gallon tank lasts up to 24 hours on low output. On high in dry air, expect to refill once a day or more.

Does it work with hard tap water?

It is ultrasonic, so minerals in hard water can show up as white dust on nearby surfaces. Distilled water avoids that.

What comes in the box?

The humidifier and one Vicks VapoPad. Replacement VapoPads are sold separately.

How does it compare with the Vicks Warm Mist humidifier?

This one is cool mist, filter-free and smaller. Warm mist models add a heating element and need more cleaning but can feel more comfortable in cold rooms.

Prices swing widely on this model. The $9.97 eBay price as of November 3, 2026 is far below its usual $25 to $40, so it is a good time to buy.
