Is the Vitamix immersion blender bundle worth it over the bare blender?

The bundle adds the whisk, 3-cup chopper and 32-oz jar with lid, which together cover chopping and whipping the base unit cannot do alone. If you only blend soups, the bare blender is enough; if you want one tool for several jobs, the kit earns its price.

Can it crush ice or frozen fruit?

Yes. The four-prong stainless steel blade and 625W motor are rated for frozen fruit and whole-food ingredients. Keep the blade submerged and use a tall container to avoid splatter.

What containers can I blend in?

Any container with an opening 3 inches wide or larger, including the included 32-oz jar and a 1-quart wide-mouth Mason jar. Narrow jars will not fit the shaft.

How many speeds does it have, and is there a pulse?

Five speeds with indicator lights, plus a pulse function. Controls are touch buttons designed for one-handed use.

Is it dishwasher safe?

No. Vitamix specifies hand washing for the blender and its attachments.

What warranty comes with it?

A 3-year full warranty covers the blender. That is longer than the typical 1- to 2-year coverage on hand blenders.
