Is the Vitamix 5200 worth it over cheaper blenders?

If you blend frozen fruit, ice or fibrous vegetables often, the 2 HP motor and 7-year warranty justify the price. For occasional light blending, a cheaper blender is enough.

How is the 5200 different from the Vitamix 750?

The 5200 is the taller Legacy Series design with a 64-ounce classic container and 10 manual speeds. The 750 is shorter and wider, with a low-profile 64-ounce container and preset programs.

Will it fit under my kitchen cabinets?

The unit is 20.5 inches tall, so measure your clearance first. Many standard upper cabinets leave less room than that, and the container must be removed to fit.

What comes in the box?

The motor base, a 64-ounce classic container and a tamper. No extra containers or cookbook are included.

Can it make hot soup?

Yes. Running the blades at high speed for several minutes heats the contents in the container, so you can make hot soups and purées without a stove.

Our take on the Vitamix 5200 Standard

The Vitamix 5200 is the classic full-size Vitamix: a 2 HP, 1500-watt motor, a 64-ounce BPA-free Tritan container and a laser-cut stainless-steel blade that creates the Vitamix Vortex for smooth smoothies, purées, soups and frozen blends. It has 10 variable speeds plus a High-Speed setting, a 6-foot cord, and it cleans itself with warm water and a drop of soap in 30-60 seconds. It is a tall machine at 20.5 inches, so it needs clearance under upper cabinets. Its best new price is $429.99 at uShopMall.com as of November 5, 2026, with 7 stores listing it new.
