Is the Lucent Rug good for high-traffic areas?

No. Viscose is soft and delicate, and West Elm itself advises care in high-traffic areas. Put it in a bedroom or a low-traffic living room instead.

How do you clean a viscose rug?

Blot spills right away and avoid rubbing, which can crush the pile. Use professional cleaning for stains, and vacuum gently without a beater bar.

Is the Lucent Rug soft?

Yes. Viscose has a silky, soft feel and a subtle sheen. The trade-off is that the pile crushes and shades more easily than wool.

What sizes does the Lucent Rug come in?

Listings vary by size, and this one is listed as 10'x14'. Check the exact dimensions on the listing before ordering, since hand-loomed rugs can vary slightly.

Is the Lucent Rug worth the price?

It depends on the room. It looks and feels premium, but viscose wears faster than wool or synthetic rugs, so it is a poor fit for busy households.

Our take on the West Elm Lucent Rug 10'x14' Gray/Frost Gray

The Lucent Rug from West Elm is a hand-loomed viscose rug with a soft, low-sheen sheen and a 0.5-inch pile. Viscose gives it a silky look and feel, but it is delicate under heavy traffic and prone to shading and crushing. It suits living rooms and bedrooms where looks matter more than durability.
