Does the Yamaha RDP0F5CPG include cymbals and stands?

No. It is a shell pack, so drums only. You need to add cymbals, stands, a hi-hat stand, a kick pedal and a throne.

Is this a good first drum kit?

Yes, for a beginner who wants an acoustic set. The shells are decent for the price, but budget for hardware and cymbals on top of the $499.99 shell pack.

What sizes are the drums?

Rydeen five-piece kits typically use a 22-inch kick, 10- and 12-inch toms, a 16-inch floor tom and a 14-inch snare. Confirm sizes with the store before ordering.

How does it compare with the Yamaha Stage Custom?

The Stage Custom uses birch shells and better hardware and costs considerably more. The Rydeen is the budget option for practice and learning.

When is the price lowest?

Drum shell packs usually drop during holiday sales and back-to-school promotions. The current best is $499.99 at Musician's Friend as of November 7, 2026.

Our take on the Yamaha RDP0F5CPG Shell

The Yamaha RDP0F5CPG is a five-piece acoustic drum kit from Yamaha's Rydeen series, finished in a black shell pack. Rydeen kits are aimed at beginners and students who want a real acoustic set at a low price, and they ship as a shell pack, so cymbals, stands and a throne are extra. The best new price is $499.99 at Musician's Friend as of November 7, 2026, with two stores listing it new.
