Is 166 tiles enough for a full game?

Yes. Standard Chinese mahjong uses 144 tiles, and the extra 8 flower and 8 season tiles are included here, so four players can play a complete game.

Is this set worth $69.99?

That is the only new price listed, at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, so there is no recent range to compare it with. Judge it against what other complete 166-tile sets cost.

Does it come with racks, dice or a mat?

The listing does not confirm accessories beyond the tiles. Check the box contents before buying if you need racks or dice.

Can beginners use it?

Yes, the tile set is standard, so any beginner guide or rulebook for Chinese mahjong applies. You may want to add a rulebook if one is not included.

What is the difference from American mahjong sets?

American sets add jokers and use racks and a card of hands. This is a Chinese-style 166-tile set, so it suits Chinese rules rather than American tournament play.
