Do I need a box spring with this daybed?

No. The frame includes metal slats that support a twin mattress directly, so a box spring is not needed.

Is a mattress included?

No. This is the frame only. You need to buy a standard twin mattress separately.

What mattress thickness works best?

A twin mattress around 6 to 10 inches thick sits well within the frame. Very thick mattresses can rise above the side rails.

Can two people sit on it?

It is a twin frame, so it seats two adults only snugly. It works better as a single seat or a one-person bed.

Some owners report squeaks from the metal joints and slats over time. Tightening the bolts and adding a slat pad helps.

When is the best time to buy?

Metal daybed frames like this see the deepest discounts during back-to-school and Black Friday sales. Check the price history before buying.

Our take on the Zinus Twin Metal Daybed Frame

This is a twin-size metal daybed frame from Zinus that ships without a mattress. It uses a steel frame with built-in slats, so no box spring is needed, and the open sides let it work as a sofa by day and a bed by night. It suits guest rooms, kids' rooms and small apartments where one piece has to do two jobs. The frame-only build keeps the cost low, but you still need to buy a twin mattress separately.
