Are the SelectTech 552 and Results Series the same dumbbell?

Effectively yes. Both are BowFlex SelectTech 52-style pairs with 5 to 52.5 lbs per hand, 15 settings and metal plates. The Results Series listing just documents the specs and warranty more fully.

Which is better for a home gym?

Either works the same way. Pick the cheaper one; the Results Series is $399.00 at BowFlex as of November 7, 2026 versus $429.99 for the 552 as of November 3, 2026.

Is 52.5 lbs per dumbbell enough?

It covers most pressing, curling and lateral raise work for intermediate lifters. Heavy bench press, rows and shrugs will outgrow it, so plan on a barbell for those.

No, but both models are compatible with the BowFlex SelectTech stand, sold separately. Without it you pick the dumbbells up off the floor or from the included trays.

How long do they last?

The Results Series carries a 2-year parts warranty. The main wear points are the dial mechanism and plate locking, so seat the plates fully before lifting.

Is the Results Series worth the extra over a fixed set?

It replaces 15 pairs of fixed dumbbells in about 17 inches of length per hand. That space saving is the reason to pay the adjustable premium.
