Which is better for schoolwork?

The Asus. 8GB of RAM and a 256GB drive handle documents, video calls and several tabs at once; the HP's 4GB and 128GB will slow down and fill up sooner.

Is the Asus worth $22 more than the HP?

Yes for most shoppers. The extra $22 buys double the RAM, double the storage and a stronger 8-core processor, and the RAM cannot be added later.

Which has better battery life?

The HP is rated at 10 hours with HP Fast Charge; the Asus is rated at 7 hours. Real-world results depend on screen brightness and workload.

Can I upgrade the memory or storage later?

The Asus RAM is on-board and capped at 8GB, so it cannot be upgraded. The HP's 4GB is already minimal; check before buying if you plan to add memory.

Do both have touchscreens?

Yes. Both list a 15.6-inch 1920x1080 touchscreen, and both have an anti-glare finish.

The Asus should stay usable longer because of its 8GB of RAM and 8-core processor. The HP's 4GB of RAM is the first limit you will hit.
