- Rubber tabs grip without rattling or scratching
- Offset screw helps clear console trim
- Takes up a lot of console space
- Can wobble or sit loose in shallow cup holders
- Plastic build feels basic for the price
Seven Sparta Expander (32 to 40 oz)
Buyers of this type of expander generally report it does the job of holding a large Hydro Flask steady in a standard car holder. Complaints tend to focus on fit in unusually shaped consoles and on plastic parts loosening over time.
Questions and answers
- Which holds a 40 oz Hydro Flask better?
- Both are built for it. The Seven Sparta is sized specifically for 32 and 40 oz Hydro Flasks, and the Swigzy's 2.8 to 3.85 in opening covers them too. The Swigzy also fits wider cups the Seven Sparta can't.
- Is the Swigzy worth double the price?
- Only if you need the wider opening or the offset base screw. For a plain 32 or 40 oz Hydro Flask in a normal cup holder, the Seven Sparta does the job for $12.79 versus $26.99 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026.
- Will either fit a small console cup holder?
- Both drop into most car and truck cup holders. The Swigzy is the taller and heavier of the two at 425 g, so check clearance above the console. The Seven Sparta sits lower at 16 cm.
- Do they fit cans or normal cups?
- The Seven Sparta does not; its opening starts at 3.4 in. The Swigzy's range starts at 2.8 in, so it takes more cup sizes, though neither is a replacement for a standard can holder.
- Which is easier to move between cars?
- The Seven Sparta, at 16 cm tall and lighter. The Swigzy's offset screw has to be readjusted each time you move it.
